About the Position
You will have the opportunity to join the Tire & Performance Science team to support tire development and vehicle manufactures through vehicle dynamics investigations and further development of virtual tire development capabilities.
Further develop the creativity and innovation capacity of the team with a focus on virtual tire development. Cooperate with vehicle OEM’s, external companies and universities to shape our virtual tire/vehicle development process for efficiency, quality and robustness. Cooperate with simulation and testing teams on tire force and moment testing, instrumented vehicle testing and simulation.
Cooperate with tire design team and provide recommendations for tire design tuning to meet tire/vehicle performance objectives. Assess/benchmark the performance of tire/vehicle systems through modeling, testing and simulation.
Develop new tire/vehicle test and simulation capabilites, enhance our predictive technologies using the latest data analysis tools in conjunction with up-to-date data science methods.
Further develop the creativity and innovation capacity of the team with focus on virtual tire development.
Asses/benchmark the performance of tire/vehicle systems through modeling, testing and simulation.
Assist in the development of new concepts.
Lead implementation of new technology with current department.
Translate product needs to experimental data or design parameters.
Contribute to manufacturing of quality products and processes.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a relative field.
Master’s Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years professional experience inside automotive industry (e.g. at a vehicle OEM) or academia for vehicle dynamics.
Experience with vehicle modeling and vehicle dynamics simulation software (e.g. CarMaker, VI-Grade, CarSim).
Experience with tire modeling and force and moment prediction software (e.g. MF-Tire, CD-Tire, F-Tire).
Experience with data acquisition / analysis software.
Experience with chassis and/or steering system development is an asset.
Desired Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in statistical design and analysis; cause and effect analysis and risk analysis.
Ability to carry out assignments in a logical fashion using existing technology and standardized methods.
Basic organization, communication and experimentation discipline.
Practical understanding of science and technology in the appropriate discipline.
Knowledge of data acquisition and processing software, MATLAB
