The HF TireTech Group has announced that Warren Rudman has been appointed executive vice president. In his new role, Rudman will be responsible for leading the HF TireTech Group services in the areas of research and development, engineering, automation, service, project and field management, maintenance and logistics, among others.

HF believes that the company is fortunate to have successfully recruited Rudman as EVP, as his vast experience in the management of global tire plants will enable the company to benefit from valuable information and insights to enhance company services, performance and innovation to better suit differing customer requirements.

Continental and digital tracking company Security Matters (SMX) have verified a method for invisibly marking natural rubber with information on its geographical origin. This means that responsibly sourced natural rubber and its origin can be verified at every stage of the supply chain all the way through to the customer.

The marker technology, which the companies created for use in natural rubber, is designed to create greater transparency along the entire value chain of tires and technical rubber products from Continental.

For the field test, natural rubber grown as part of a joint project run by Continental and the German development aid agency GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) in the Indonesian province of West Kalimantan was used and provided with the markers.

A new multi-year agreement has been signed between the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and NASCAR which will see Goodyear renewing its position as the exclusive tire supplier for the top three national series of NASCAR. The announcement marks the continuation of one of the longest-running partnerships in racing history, with the pair having had a business relationship since 1972.

For nearly 70 years, Goodyear’s engineers have used the NASCAR series as a testing ground for several generations of racing tire which must repeatedly deliver the high-performance level that the series demands, in addition to withstanding rigorous scenarios on the race circuit.
