First road-legal trackday tire from Continental
Continental has launched the ContiForceContact, a road legal trackday tire that its maker believes will set a new benchmark for high-performance cars.
Developed with some of the world’s leading tuning partners such as AC Schnitzer and Techart, the ContiForceContact is Continental's first road-legal trackday tire. The firm has used its considerable resources and expertise in research and development of the new tire and conducted extensive tests at the Nordschleife to meet the requirements of a trackday tire.
For track performance, Continental’s patented Black Chilli compound is said to ensure maximum intermeshing between the tire and road surface for ultimate grip, while the newcomer's unique macro-block shoulder design is designed to deliver great handling and superb cornering. The result, Conti hopes, is excellent adhesion in dry conditions and consistently fast lap times, making ContiForceContact an ideal tire for keen track drivers.
Although the focus is on dry performance, bi-directional drainage grooves on the inside of the tread provide excellent wet-weather performance on the track and allow the driver to get home safely whatever the weather.
